The Oracle Hacker's Handbook: Hacking and Defending ...

Passion or Madness: Now days, it has become a passion to learn about hacking and information security. Sometimes I do not understand that whether it is a passion or a kind of madness. This passion has resulted due to several news articles, media stories and the excitement showing hacking related thrills in films. But, on the other hand there is a fact also that very few peoples know anything in-depth about the topic of hacking and information security. So, I would suggest that without adequate knowledge please do not get mad behind passion. Sometimes this passion may become dangerous from the legal point of view. There is nothing wrong to gain expertise, but there is need to realize a fact about incorrect issues behind hacking. I will come to this topic in depth, later in the same chapter.

Be Alert and Aware: Do you think that hacking is an expert level work? Do you think that information security and hacking are one and same things? If yes! Then you are absolutely wrong. Many children in the age group of 14-16 years are having sufficient knowledge to hack any website or collect important data facts from the internet. So, internet being the big source of information it's a child game to perform hacking related activities. Many hackers whose aim is to just earn money from you, they give seminars and workshops along with misguide you that, "learn hacking in an ethical way for a brilliant career". But, I am not going to explain in this way, to any of you. Instead, I would like to explain the fact in a positive way with a positive attitude. A teacher's task is to show right path to students and not misguide them for gaining their personal benefits. So I would suggest that instead of going for the knowledge of hacking, gain the knowledge by learning something, which is said to be an expert level job. And this expert level job is known as information security expertise in technical terms. Hope you might have understood the difference between hacking (not expert level job) and information security (expert level job) from this topic. So, be alert from such misguidance.

Other then passion, one more side of coin also exists. Many institutes and independent peoples call themselves hacker and/or information security experts. But the reality behind their expertise and skills gets displayed in front of non-technical peoples and the victims who undergo for training, courses, certifications, seminars and workshop with such types of self-claimed hackers or institutes, when such victims and non-technical peoples realize that they are not satisfied for which they have spent time and money. The actual reality behind fooling is that the peoples who undergo for such seminars, workshops, courses, etc. most probably undergo through a psychology that, "the person or institute from which we will receive knowledge during the training sessions is an expert or is providing quality education as he was published by media agencies or that it's a branded name in market for related subject talent or that he is an author of any book". I believe in practical, official and those tasks or actions for which evidence lies in front of my eyes. Thus, I am trying to explain to everyone that always be alert and aware, so that your hardly earned income does not get spend in such unnecessary waste of time.

I will give you my own example here! I have several articles about me in various newspapers and media agencies, but this doesn't mean that I am showing you the right path or that I am an expert. For example may be possible that I am a hacker, but this does not prove that I am an expert. So, expert level job is a totally different matter. The explanation about difference between hacking and expertise will come in next chapters So, first check out the level of my knowledge, how much practically I am able to prove my expertise, whether I am official & legal while undergoing for such tasks and finally the evidence part that whatever actions I undertake are proved right in front of eyes, instead of just talking theoretically. Always confirm yourself first, that you are learning with right person or institute or just wasting your time and money. May be possible that peoples might be receiving fees from you and in turn give you the knowledge of something(any other subject or topic about information technology field), which is not even single percent part of hacking or information security related topics. This happens most probably with non-technical peoples or fresher in information technology field.

False Publicity: Secondly, confirm that you are at least gaining the knowledge up to a level for which you have paid a particular amount. Don't just go behind false publicities before you confirm yourself and your inner feelings say that you are moving on right path. As concerns to book publishers, media agencies and films, I would like to confirm that none of them might be having full and fledge technical knowledge about information security field as concerns to my knowledge. It's similar to following examples on me:

A person comes and tells me that you are an expert please suggest me some medicines which can eradicate my serious disease of cancer. I am a technical professional and not a biological professional who is going to solve this problem. A person comes and tells me that suggest a good lawyer who can defend my case in court. Now tell me how do I give suggestion as to which lawyer can prove this person innocent in court of law. Thus, I can't do anything or have any knowledge about any field which is not my subject or area of work. Similarly, even media peoples, book publishers and film makers does not have adequate or complete knowledge and they believe the statement to be true which is explained to them by many misguiding self-claimed hackers and/or reputed institutes. So, these peoples are also not responsible for some of these kinds of activities published by them on any medium.

Language Troubling: There is one more part of cheating called use of useless and complicated language in order to misguide students and especially technically sound professionals. This is a very intelligent part of stunt used by many self claimed security peoples to misguide others. Usually when any self claimed hacker or institute doesn't know anything about complicated or expert level topic, and in such situation they want to include expert level topics in their study material without having any expert level knowledge; such peoples use very complicated words of English and prepare the contents in such a manner that it becomes very difficult to understand even for the persons who are fluent in English. A very complicated coding and useless technical terms are used in their study material, so that the victims cannot understand or claim against such self claimed hackers and so called specialized institutes, in a legal way. When any victim (user of such material) goes through such study materials and courses as well as certifications, they become helpless to understand such complicated and misguiding language, filled up of useless and non-understandable technical terms. Now, when they don't understand anything the common psychology of such victims understands that, "it's a part of expert level work and that's why they are unable to understand the matter or that he won't be able to complete this job successfully as he is not talented" and so on. In this way, the victims think themselves responsible for not understanding the expert level work. But they do not know that they have never been taught anything, which can be called an expert level education or job. This is what I am trying to explain you that it is not your fault, instead it is a stunt used by such self claimed hackers and institutes who tries to sell their services and materials by misguiding others with the help of language troubling. So here also there is a need to be aware and alert of any services or material offered by any self claimed hacker and specialized institutions. They just have an intention of earning a huge amount from you and do not have any feelings for the information security field, students or the nation in any way. This is the reason they use difficult word, complicated terms and technical coding in order misguide others so that no one knows about their level of their knowledge.

Finally: Thus, finally the topics should be very clear that

Don't get mad behind passion and be serious about legal activities. Be alert that you are receiving right knowledge for which you have paid. Be aware of what you are undergoing for is the right one for which you have paid and that too join after checking out. Be practical, official and believe only that which happens only in front of your eyes. You should have the guts to demand for evidence. Check the simplification of language used in the study material whether you can go through it and understand it or not, before purchasing any services or materials from self claimed hackers or so called expert level institutes which claims to be specialized in information security area. Try to understand the difference between a truth and a false, correct and incorrect, etc. by going in depth about every fact related to services, products or materials you are offered by any self claimed hacker or so called specialized institutes. Even if this is in my case, first check out with my study material, then get into the depth of my work background and then only purchase any services, products or material offered by me or on behalf of me. Don't get misguided behind media hype or false publicity of any person or institute without checking through it.

The Contents Of A Lease

Most landlords know that they need a lease agreement between them and the tenants that rent their properties. What a lot of a landlords do not know is all the topics that should be covered in that lease. Read this brief article to better understand this subject.

No matter which way you decide to come up with your rental lease, you'll need some tools to help you get the best lease possible. Personally, I am fan of checklists, so it only makes good sense to use one to help you understand what you should have in the lease you eventually decide to use The checklist below is probably very close to the same one a lawyer would use for reference if he or she were drafting a lease for a client. This checklist will be extremely consistent, wherever you live.

We will go through the checklist and I will give a brief explanation of each item as I list it. Keep in mind that not every item may not be necessary, but should be considered. A good lawyer can help you decide.

Parties--the people involved in the lease. Each person or entity is a party to a lease. You could have two parties or many parties to a lease.

Names--all parties or entities on the lease need to be named.
Address--of the parties if different than the leased address.
Other identification--as needed.

Subject of the lease

Address or legal description of the property; address of the property being rented.
Lessee's purpose--whether residential, commercial, farm use, etc.
Restrictions on use of property--limits on use and occupancy.

Duration of agreement or option for lease--length of contract including starting and ending dates.

Provisions to be included in subsequent lease

Parties--usually refers to names of minors/pets.

Subject term--fixed day when rent is due and when considered late.

Rental payments--amount of payment and security deposit.

Access to property--right to enter property for emergency, repairs, or timely condition review.

Designation of party responsible for repairs--who's responsible for what repairs and action taken if repairs not completed in a timely manner.

Identification of appurtenance--what goes with or is related to the rented premises (appliances, equipment, etc.)

Liability for utilities--who pays sewer, water, garbage, and so forth.

Liability for taxes and assessments--in some leases, the tenants are responsible for these items.

Renewal option provisions--conditions and time frame for lease renewal of premises.

Purchase option provisions--conditions and time frame for purchase of premises.

Transferability of lease agreement--whether you can sublease or not.

Date of execution--when the lease was signed by parties.

Signatures--signatures of parties.

This completes the checklist that you may use to structure your rental lease. It is very likely and actually quite common that you might include other provisions in your lease other than those listed.

For instance, many people write their rules and regulations into the lease itself. These regulations cover such things as noise, lockouts, pets, and parking. Other landlords simply hand out the rules as an afterthought, but might write out amendments to their standard lease as they feel it's needed.

Whatever you decide to include in your lease, make sure it can do its' job where necessary; in a court of law.

Your Business Is Incorporated - But Are Your Personal Assets Safe?

Many small business owners understand the benefit of incorporating, but they don't realize how easy it is to lose their "corporate status" if they get sued or end up in bankruptcy. This is dangerous because then the court can come after their PERSONAL assets (like their house, car, savings, etc)!

Today, I will review a little bit of why incorporating is so important for small business owners, and then tell you five simple steps you can follow to protect your personal assets, even if your business gets sued or goes through bankruptcy.

It makes sense to incorporate for a couple of reasons. First, because it protects you from personal liability, and second, because it offers you some great tax advantages. For today, we're going to just focus on the personal liability part.

When you incorporate, your business becomes like another person. This other person has it's own bank account, it can own things like property, and it can take risks. Even if that "other person" (your business) goes completely bankrupt or gets sued, YOU are safe (assuming you do everything correctly).

This is important because many new businesses fail, but you as the entrepreneur don't want to fail. You want to pick yourself back up and start your NEXT business which will be even more successful. Failure is a necessary way to learn, so we want it to be as painless as possible.

When everything works like it should, then yes, you PERSONALLY are protected. But there are certain situations where your corporate status doesn't help you out, and every business owner should be aware of them!

You see, setting up a company gives you so much protection from liability, that unethical people in the past have tried to take advantage of it. They have created "shell corporations", or businesses just for the purpose of liability protection, to help them get away with various crimes.

Of course, the law had to be modified to weed out these people and make sure they were appropriately prosecuted. But in the process, the requirements for honest small business owners became TOUGHER. Some extra steps are now required to make sure your corporate status stays intact.

By the way, whenever a court decides to waive the corporate protection and actually prosecute the owners behind the company PERSONALLY, they call it "piercing the corporate veil". (Lawyers always like to come up with fancy names for things.)

Following are the top five ways to protect you personal assets then starting a business. Make sure you do these correctly, and you can be sure that even if your business experiences a colossal failure, or gets sued out of existence, at least your personal assets are safe and you can start over.

1. Never Engage in Fraud or any Criminal Act
This sounds simple, but many small businesses owners unknowingly break the law. Never sell a product you know is defective or doesn't work, misrepresent something in your advertising, forge any signatures, or pull a bait and switch (offer a great deal to get people in the door only to tell them it is out of stock so you can sell a substitute.) Run your business HONESTLY and with INTEGRITY every day, and it will pay off in the long run.

2. Never Misrepresent Your Corporate Officers or Members
Don't ever lie about who is involved in your company. When it comes time to ask for investors, or get people to support you, you may be templed to exaggerate about who is actually working with you. If they haven't actually SIGNED your operating agreement, then they aren't your partner.

3. Make Sure Your Follow All Corporate Formalities
If you are going to claim you are a company, then you'd better act like a company. That means you have to file all important documents and keep them on file (your operating agreement, articles of incorporation, and DBA for example). You also have to keep detailed financial records. In Breaking Free, I provide samples of these documents and show you exactly how to create them yourself. This will literally save you thousands of dollars in legal expense because you won't have to pay a lawyer to create them for you. (Read more below)

4. Keep Your Business and Personal Assets Separate
The business has to have it's own bank account. The money in that bank account is not YOUR money. It belongs to the business. In fact, if you decide one day come along and take some money out to buy yourself a Hawaiian vacation, that is called embezzlement (a crime)! Many first time business owners (especially if they are the sole owner) don't understand this concept. The money in the company is not theirs. The company is like a separate person, and all assets must be treated as such.

5. Never Treat the Business' Assets as if They Were Your Own
Don't deposit your personal checks into the corporate account. Don't use company money to finance your personal life and hobbies. Don't lend the company car to your buddy for a weekend excursion. Don't set up a cot in the back of the office and start living there! Again, the business and yourself are two separate people. Treat them accordingly.

With these five basic steps, you will be well on your way to protecting your personal assets in the event your business goes under.

Many successful business people, from Donald Trump to John D. Rockefeller, went through periods of ups and downs in their life. Not every company they bet on was a success. But they managed to survive and lived to fight another day because they where smart enough to INCORPORATE correctly. They followed the above five steps to make sure they wouldn't lose their corporate status in the event of a lawsuit. They made sure that their PERSONAL assets were safe, even if the COMPANY went bankrupt.

Paralegals - The World Is Thy Oyster

In spite of ever increasing difficult economic times, there are a few areas of increasing job opportunities. These include paralegals and legal assistants.

Paralegals and legal assistants are actually the individuals who help out the lawyers with much of their easier, "less legal" daily tasks, which leave lawyers more time to work on the "bigger" work. In spite of their ability to carry out various tasks that was once thought to be exclusively for lawyers, paralegals and legal assistants are still explicitly prohibited from carrying out the actual tasks that lawyers do such as setting legal fees, giving legal advice and presenting cases to the court. Legal assistants may be bright but lawyers still have the last say on things and are still considered the authority on legal matters.

Paralegals are now considered to be an increasingly important component in most law offices today and as their value has increased so has competition for their services. As more and more law offices are using paralegals there has been a parallel rise in the skill level and expectations of paralegals.

In the past, most paralegals were trained on the job but as more and more people recognize the great career opportunity that has unfolded before them a whole new paralegal educational training field has been developed.

This has been a nature progression in the evolution of the field. As the demand has grown so has the expectations, as I indicated a little earlier and many firms are no longer interested in hiring a wannabe paralegal but want a fully trained, highly competent paralegal from the first day. As a result, most law firms will now only hire paralegal applicants who have postsecondary paralegal education or university graduates with a certain number of paralegal credits.

Not only are paralegals in great demand within law firms but they're also being pursued by corporate legal departments and various government offices that specialize in different areas of the law.

Another key aspect of a typical paralegals job description includes assisting the lawyers in preparing their cases. This includes: closings, trials, hearings and in some instances high level corporate meetings. A little known fact about paralegals is that they are often the ones given the task of searching for relevant judicial decisions, legal articles as well as any other materials that may be deemed important to the case.

It's extremely important that paralegals understand all the relevant facts about the cases they are assigned to investigate and they are taught to never dismiss any bit of information as irrelevant because it may turn out to be the key bit of information needed to win a case. Another important skill needed to be a good paralegal is a keen eye for detail and the ability to multi-task. Paralegals are given a wide range of duties and they need to be able to move from one task to another when the need arises.

Paralegals are also required, in many offices, to analyze and organize all the research data they've put together into a well written, informative and useful report that their supervising lawyer can reference to help them build their cases.

If you have been thinking about a career in law, starting out as a paralegal or a legal assistant can be a great stepping stone and learning opportunity before taking the next step and a becoming lawyer or even if your aspirations are simply to become and stay a paralegal it's still an exciting career choice. With all the possibilities a paralegal career offers today, the allure is becoming hard to resist for many.

The Need For An Expert Corporate Lawyer

A corporation lawyer may have several areas of expertise. A corporate lawyer can either specialize in forming corporations, or in the drafting of the appropriate articles of incorporation and by-laws. There is also a lawyer who specializes in liquidating or dissolving a corporation or a lawyer who masters in bringing a suit for and in behalf of a corporation.

But do you really need separate lawyers for each and every concern of the corporation? Of course not. You can actually find an expert corporate lawyer for all of these. You can find a single lawyer who can help you establish the corporation, make the necessary articles of incorporation and by-laws, sue and defend for and in behalf of the corporation and dissolve the corporation in case the stockholders desire so. There is no need to hire and pay a separate lawyer for all these corporate concerns. All you have to do is to get one expert lawyer and pay him or her, the corresponding retainer's fee for every service rendered to the corporation as the need arises.

Truly, we are all aware of the great need of an expert corporate lawyer for our corporation. There is no question about this. However, we must also be aware that we can actually have one expert lawyer that will handle all the needs of our corporation. There is no need to spend lots of money in just trying to get several lawyers to cater to the needs of the corporation. One expert lawyer will be enough. There are so many corporate lawyers available today. The issues, problems and questions involving a corporation is not that complicated. So why make it one? By just looking and browsing the Internet, you can actually find a law firm that will provide you with a corporate lawyer who is well-acquainted with our corporation laws. Try getting one and just pay the corresponding retainer's fee to the law firm. Surely, all the corporation's concerns will be handled competently by the lawyer assigned to your corporation.-----

Online Legal Forms Can Save You Time and Money

While there are certainly times when circumstances are such that you need to hire an attorney, many legal matters are routine. It's enormously frustrating to feel as though you have go to the expense and hassle of hiring a lawyer for a simple legal issue. Although attorneys would have you believe that every legal maneuver requires their assistance, the reality is that you often don't need a lawyer - you just need the proper legal forms.

If you were to attempt to draft your own legal forms, you'd immediately run into a roadblock. If you haven't been to law school, you'll have no way of knowing what constitutes acceptable or unacceptable legal language. And goodness knows, "legalese" is a language unto itself! Luckily, the Internet offers abundant opportunities for bypassing the expense of hiring an attorney by providing you with resources you need to do it yourself. After all, if you can download legal forms for routine matters, you can save both time and money, while ensuring that you have covered your bases in the eyes of the law.

US legal forms are fairly standardized, so there's no reason not to take advantage of online legal forms. The truth is, attorneys use template legal forms themselves. When you download legal forms, you're essentially just cutting out the middleman.

So, what kinds of legal forms might help you out? You can easily use a legal form to set up a power of attorney, for example, and not have to hire a lawyer. Likewise, you can use online legal forms to deal with a variety of personal matters, such as creating your Last Will and Testament, creating a Living Will, utilizing the Uniform Gifts to Minors Act, selling your motor vehicle, entering into a construction contract, or signing an affidavit.

Online legal forms are also helpful for matters involving real estate and property. You can obtain a lease, a rental application form, a rent receipt, a promissory note, a mortgage assumption agreement, a contract for the sale and purchase of property, an agreement for permission to sublet, and many more.

Likewise, if you are a business owner, you can save a tremendous amount of money in legal fees by utilizing business legal forms. Online forms include templates for automobile rental agreements, articles of incorporation, bylaws, assignment of stock certificates, shareholders agreements, buy-sell agreements, and subscription agreements. You can even find employment agreements and business consultant agreements.

While online legal forms can't take care of every single legal matter, they can certainly handle those that are routine. In addition to being inexpensive, online legal forms give you the flexibility you need to instantly obtain the legal form you require.

Print on demand -A rejected writers possible salvation

I met a man who possessed the ambition of writing a novel. He took classes in grammar, writing techniques, and computer operation for the express purpose of fulfilling his dream. Preparing for that dream was similar to preparing oneself for a mountain climb.

Months of training was required for him to fulfill that dream. He attended several college level classes he knew would help. On the day the climb was to commence, the man sat down at his computer to 'write' the great novel. He stared at the screen for several hours wondering where the mountain was located. It finally came to him that there was no mountain. He had no story to write.

For those writers with a story locked away in their imaginations, their obstacles are not the mountain, but time and determination. Months and even years can go by and the climb continues. When the peak of the mountain is finally visible, time is robbed wherever possible; sleep, communicating with spouses and kids, television, sitting at the table for meals, etc.

When the manuscript is finally written and rewritten, articles on writing queries are poured over. That chore is often times more difficult than writing the book. Once it's completed, a copy is sent off to the selected agent. Agents, for some unknown reason, prefer the writer to query only one of them at a time. This is where the waiting starts.

After six months, the writer finally gets the hint there will be no answer to the query. To save time, and aggravation, multiple queries are then sent out. Several of the agents will respond with their "I'm sorry but after 'careful consideration', we do not feel this agency can offer you the representation your novel requires," or some variation of that thought.

The cost of stamps being what they are, the writer now either gives up or searches the internet for agents who accept electronic queries. I recently read an article about an agent who was pressed for time and rejected 21 manuscripts in 25 minutes. Ernest Hemingway could have been in that group and still be rejected.

The next attempt will be a passing fancy with sending queries directly to the publishers. As I say, a passing fancy. It was at this time Douglas and I agreed to work together to attempt having his stories published. I became DayDreamin' Stories. We were unsure where to turn next with his science fiction novel entitled "Zog". In one of the fine writers e-zines he subscribes to, I noticed a 'bragging' section where a woman spoke about an e-publisher who had accepted her manuscript.

We immediately dashed off a query. Included in it was a brief statement saying if the reader was interested in an adventure in outer space, they were able to join Commander Zografos and the crew of the Tartainia. They could also meet Shahailian, the woman Zog fell in love with.

Within a short time, Douglas received an answer stating the e-publisher was interested in his story which included adventure, love, and revenge. We asked them questions, they answered them. On their web site, I found the amount of money they charge the customer per download and what percentage of that amount the author received. Very straight forward. The e-publisher sent him a contract. They did what they said they would do and we did what we were supposed to do.

Loren Douglas was now a published author. He was in a much better position when approaching agents about future works, or so we thought. What we didn't realize was two things. Fiction e-book novels are a marketing nightmare and agents could care less if the author is listed with an e-book publisher.

Sales of "ZOG" were disappointing, to say the least. I spent hours on the internet putting ads where I thought they would help. It seemed the more time I spent on the net, the more I realized I was wasting my time. There had to be a better way.

Douglas was ready to send out his second novel, a detective story entitled, "VERIFIABLE EVIDENCE." Again, the agents were not interested. It was at this point I realized the writers drive had to include far more then just writing the story. That alone would discourage most people. Getting the story in front of an audience was another kettle of fish, as Douglas would say.

We decided we had to become more aggressive if we were to succeed. I found a book entitled, "THE FINE PRINT of Self-Publishing" by Mark Levine. In the book, he reviews the contracts and services of 48 self-publishing companies. As a lawyer, he goes into detail what all the writer should be looking for and why. This is a must have book for any author considering self-publishing.

After reading the book, I contacted Booklocker.com. Levine had given them a very high rating and I felt we should try for the best. What I liked about them is they reject authors whose work did not meet their standards. Many of the Print On Demand companies will print anything the author sends in.

The amount of information on the internet negates any excuse for an author not knowing the facts of life pertaining to their after-write experiences. When a print publisher takes on a book, they fully expect the author to aggressively market their product. The days of the author sitting back and raking in the bucks are long gone.

I would suspect the biggest problem facing an author is whether or not it's actually worth the time required to market. Book signings seem to be a gray area. Are they worth it? An author can sit in the store all afternoon and not sell one book. Would the time be better spent on-line looking for places to advertise? Who knows. Each author must decide for themselves.

If a new author is not thick skinned, they might consider another line of work. When the agents reject a piece, it's not the author they are rejecting. It's the work they're rejecting. And who is to say these agents' opinions are the final word. One's opinion can be 180 degrees away from the next agent.

I read an article about an agent Douglas had contacted. This woman wrote back and agreed to represent him. Be sure to drop the check in the mail first. What check? The one for $200, of course. For what? Up front fees. The interesting part was I later read where this same woman was a person of interest for the police in her area. The moral of that story is be careful when dealing with agents. Not all of them are who they say they are.

To introduce myself to the internet community, I put together a sixty eight page e-book on stress entitled "Take Time Out For Me." I am offering it for free. Anybody wanting a copy has only to contact me at: ddinpaidra@yahoo.com and be sure to include the word STRESS on the subject line.

If somebody wishes to view the table of contents, please go to: http://www.squidoo.com/pollyklaas/lessStress The Polly Klass foundation is a very worth while institution and the reader would be well served finding out about them while at the Squidoo site. Don't hesitate to check out my other lense while there.

Don't be discouraged by agents or publishers who reject your work. Also, don't be discouraged by people in your circles who simply don't understand what you are doing. This, I might add, can include family members. They do not understand a writer's drive.

Allow me to recap the situation. The writer has completed her or his manuscript. The writer sends it off to agents. The writer is rejected. If the writer were accepted, she or he would have to put forth a substantial effort to market the book. In this case (the norm) the agents reject the work and no marketing is necessary.

The author then submits the manuscript to a Print On Demand who accepts it. The author must put forth a substantial effort to market the book, but this time, she or he receives a larger cut of the pie as reward for their efforts. The author is published and has the chance of catching the eye of a print publisher. Or is happy sticking with the POD and having total control over their work.

Angela and Richard Hoy own and operate Booklocker.com. They are both very supportive of their authors and are more than willing to help whenever possible. I realize this sounds like an advertisement, but it isn't. I enjoy passing along information I have found useful. Thank you for spending a few minutes with me.

Tattoo`s. Art or just Awesome?

First, if my English is`nt the best.

Has tattooing become the new thing to do?, since the reality/documenter show Miami Ink started, does it feel like it turn up Tattoo artists on every corner.

And i`m not any better, but i`ve been in to tattoo`s since 1996 when i got my first "tat". I remember how i all started, my friend Lars came to a party a night in -96, and had his sleeve rolled up on his shoulder and a large tribal, showed.

And everybody just started "you`r crazy what are people gonna think?", and he replied, and i remember this so well. - It`s my arm, my choice so fuck you, i almost fainted, Lars that never ever open his mouth, just started yelling at these persons, it was like the tattoo had some sort of magic-power or something, and after the yelling was over, everybody got really interested in his tattoo, including myself.

So a couple of days later me and Lars when to this Marko person that Lars knew, He was the one that made the tattoo on Lars, and after looking in some tattoo magazines i decided for tribal, so Marko copied it over to stencilpaper, and then placed it on my arm.

And asked if i was satisfied with the placement of the tattoo, i checked in the mirror and sure it was fine so i sad ok to start the tattooing, but hell i was nervous, And the sweat just started pouring down my forehead and back. But as soon as he got started, all my nervousity just went away and got replaced with, i don`t know but some sort of happines and relief, and when he was done, man i was proud. I was staring at my arm for minutes in the mirror, i could`nt believe that i`ve done a tattoo.

And you can guess who sat at the party that weekend with his sleeve rolled up his arm. -That`s right ME, and man i had THE biggest smile on my face, ear to ear baby. And because Lars already had taken the heat from all these people the weekend before, everybody just gave me compliments and i even got laid that night, and you can bet it was the tattoo that made that happen.

But that almost 11 yrs ago, now i got tattoo`s allover my body. And from thinking tattoo`s are just cool, i`ve started to think of them as art, i guess that i gotten older. And i got to tell you, tattoo`s are like drugs. As soon you make your first your hooked, you can`t stop. The feeling after you dona a new tattoo is indescribable, that`s why i think it` so addictive..

Anyway back to Miami Ink, people that are watching the show, i believe must be thinking that to become a tattoo artist you just have to buy a tattoo-starterkit??, and that it`s easy to become a tattoo artist, i mean that`s just sad is`nt it.

It`s like you go out and buy a book with laws in it and reads it and you become the best lawyer, that`s crap. It`s not called tattoo ARTIST for nothing is it???

Anyway i big clap on the back to the Artist at Miami Ink, Keep up the good work.

Golf Tournament Planning: A Mini Guide To A Successful Golf Event

The secret to plan a successful golf tournament is organization. Here's a mini step-by-step planner/guide for a successful Golf Event. The key to success is sticking to schedule, following your timeline and assigning responsibilities to the right people. Planning a golf tournament is much like organizing any other public event.

9 months prior to event
It's time to sit down and start thinking about the project's objectives. You also have to recruit a team of people to help you with certain tasks. Who will they be? Who will be your director/chairperson? Choose wisely, then talk to that person about the project. Let him/her help you. This period is critical because you will start building the project's main base/foundation.

6 months prior to event
After setting the main goals and deciding on the people who will take part in the project is time to create a timeline and set the main date event. Your timeline will be the most important part of your project plan. It is also the time to decide on several issues like the tournament's budget, any potential sponsors, your guest stars/celebrities, whether you will create a website for your golf tournament etc.

Now it's the right time to assign some responsibilities. Who will calculate the exact budget? Who will mail the potential sponsors? who will get in touch with the guest stars? who will create and manage the website?

You also have to decide on the place where the event will take place. This is also important. Talk to your team of professionals. Decide on the place. Then it's your responsibility to perform frequent site inspections to make sure everything is going according to schedule.

3 months prior to event
Things are warming up now. It's time to boost your engines. Here is when you have to work on the player's contracts. You also have to inform the players about the methods of payment. What you need a good lawyer to take care of the contracts and all that stuff. Sign the contracts and have your team prepare the invitation list and mail the invitations. Double check everyone's got their invitation. Take some time to look at your website and update it with the breaking news.

Time to advertise too. Start with press releases. Check with your sponsors for any deals. Inform all media about the golf tournament. Maybe you should create some video about the event and post it on web or create a TV or radio spot for more exposure. Also newspapers and magazines related to golf. Look for some deals with them. Remember to consult your team before closing any deal.

Select the type of your awards. This is one of the good parts of golf tournament planning. After ordering the awards, meet with your accountant to finalize your budget.

45 days prior to event
By now you should know who will take part in the golf tournament and the members of the guest list. You have already published your invitations so it's time to make a plan on how to welcome your players and your guests. Talk with your team about the golf tournament rules. Decide on the final agenda. Maybe it's time to hire a photographer and order a significant amount of T-shirts, shoes, gloves and the rest of the equipment needed.

Don't forget to take the safety of the people seriously, especially that of the players. That's why it's a good idea to plan a couple of aid stations across the area to ensure safety of the people. Also discuss about the tournament security staff.

Do you have any serious sponsors by your side? If you haven't discussed yet, it's time to think of a deal that will benefit you both.

7 days prior to event until the day of the event
As I said this is only a mini-guide offering just a plain overview of planning a golf tournament. The main purpose of this article is motivational. I would need 100 articles like this one to go into details so I don't have to say a lot about the week prior to the event or the day of the event. By now, you should have finalize all critical matters. If you reach this level and everything is working fine then you have nothing to worry about. Don't overdo it during the last week, save your powers/energy for the day of the event.
